No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday congratulated 11 candidates from the state who achieved notable success in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2025 after receiving training at the state government’s coaching centre. The announcement was made on the occasion of International Women’s Day, with the chief minister noting that nearly half of the successful candidates are women.
Banerjee praised the candidates, their parents and teachers for their dedication and hard work, calling the achievement an inspiration for the youth of the state. She said the state government provides coaching support to civil service aspirants through the Satyendra Nath Tagore Civil Service Study Centre at highly subsidised rates, and the recent success reflects the effectiveness of the initiative.
According to the chief minister, the candidates from the centre who secured positions in the UPSC 2025 final merit list include Diksha Roy (Rank 40), Akash Kumar Roy (Rank 279), Vaishna Biswas (Rank 367), Gautam Thakuri (Rank 432), Debjyoti Halder (Rank 443), Debabrata Pramanik (Rank 467), S. Nived Kumar (Rank 486), Mohsina Bano (Rank 648), Juhi Das (Rank 649), Kirti Chaudhary (Rank 760) and Aniyela Sherpa (Rank 893).
She added that the candidates’ strong ranks give them a high possibility of securing positions in top services such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS). The chief minister also noted that several other aspirants from West Bengal had succeeded in the national examination and could also be selected for key civil services.
Banerjee said the state government’s continuous encouragement and support had motivated young aspirants to participate in competitive examinations. She described the success of the candidates as a proud moment for Bengal and expressed hope that it would inspire more youths from the state to pursue careers in the civil services.
